Welcome
Since 1957 the Rockingham Choral Society has been performing great
choral
music in an effort to expand and enhance cultural experiences through dedication to the highest possible musical performance standards by presentating significant classical and contemporary choral works exposing the listener to the finest choral literature fostering an appreciation of composers and singing. The Society
is under the able direction of Andrew Gaydos.
Singers come from all walks of life to enjoy the spirit
of singing and sharing their gifts with others. Vocal soloists
are chosen from the membership, and only the finest orchestral players
are hired from New Hampshire and
Maine.
The Choral Society currently performs two major concerts per year. The Christmas concert is held in December, and the second concert is held in the spring. Each concert consists of a Saturday evening and a Sunday evening performance.
The Society rehearses for concerts at the Phillips Exeter Academy Forrestal-Bowld Music Center, thanks to the generosity of the school, and of Music Department Chair Rohan Smith.
